
To achieve the vision of making Lincoln the healthiest community in the nation, the Community Health Endowment (CHE) Board of Trustees recently approved grants totaling $424,032 to fund new projects. All grants listed begin on July 1, 2025.
Early and Adequate Prenatal Care
- Expand prenatal care services for at least 70 refugee and immigrant clients. (Asian Community and Cultural Center, $128,871 over 2 years.)
- Improve adequate prenatal care among high-risk women. (Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln, $100,000 over 2 years.)
- Provide free pregnancy tests and connection to resources. (Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department, $15,000 over 3 years.)
Healthy Food Access
- Support a pilot gardening project in the Near South neighborhood. (Hawley-Hamlet Neighborhood Garden, Inc., $7,155 over 1 year.
Mental Wellness and Human Connection
- Fund out-of-school programming for youth that supports physical and mental health and social connectedness. (The BAY, $75,000, over 3 years.)
- Train domestic violence and child maltreatment professionals to address burnout, turnover, and resilience. (UNL Center on Children, Families, and the Law, $30,662, over 1 year.)
- Support civil legal assistance through the UPLIFT program at local cultural centers. (Legal Aid of Nebraska, $20,000, over 1 year.)
- Fund the Community Breastfeeding Educator program and professional development. (Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln, $22,344 over 3 years.)
- Expand the aging adult program and launch 8 new classes. (Willard Community Center, $25,000 over 1 year.)
Applications for the next grant cycle are due August 1, 2025.
