Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are linked to lifelong health issues like heart disease, depression, and substance use. This project works to prevent ACEs through education, trauma-informed care, and community collaboration. CHE has invested over $830,000 in this project.

Connects uninsured and under-insured Lincoln residents with essential care (medications, medical visits, and language services) regardless of ability to pay. CHE has invested nearly $3 million dollars in this important project.

A CHE Legacy Project supporting the construction of a shared cultural center at 21st & Vine to expand access to health, education, and food programming through culturally grounded collaboration and community empowerment.

This project aims to increase early and adequate prenatal care through data sharing, provider training, culturally appropriate education, and strategic partnerships—working toward more equitable maternal health outcomes across Lincoln.

Through peer support and employment coaching, this project helps individuals with mental illness or substance use disorders overcome barriers to employment worsened by the pandemic. The program connects participants to care, builds job skills, and promotes long-term recovery. CHE has invested over $1 million dollars in MHA's mental health services.

Mahoney Park Inclusive Playspace – Lincoln Parks FoundationCHE funding supported the creation of Lincoln’s first fully enclosed, large-scale inclusive playground, designed with input from underrepresented families to ensure physical, sensory, and social accessibility for all children.

Trauma Warriors Expansion – Santee Sioux Nation: Society of CareThrough youth-led healing, this project promotes cultural wellness, reduces stigma, and raises awareness of Native health disparities. Participants lead events, storytelling, and outreach rooted in traditional practices and community strength.
