The 2026 ACEs and Places report, developed by the Community Health Endowment of Lincoln in partnership with BraveBe Child Advocacy Center, maps community conditions associated with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), as well as factors that can help children and families thrive.

What are ACEs?

ACEs are potentially traumatic experiences before age 18 that can affect lifelong health and well-being; but there is hope. Positive Childhood Experiences, including supportive relationships, community connections, and access to resources can strengthen resilience and contribute to healthier outcomes.

What The Maps Tell Us

The maps examine community-level risk and protective factors, defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). They serve as a starting point for understanding where challenges overlap, identifying existing community strengths, and exploring opportunities to better support children and families.

Ways Community Members Can Take Action

ACEs and Places highlights community challenges, existing strengths, and opportunities to better support children and families. Building a healthier future for children and families takes all of us.
